We deliver quick responses and top-notch service within our Claims Department. With one office location in Richmond, VA, you always call the same office and work with the same team on your claim.
Contact your agent or Kinsale directly. All claims, losses, and incidents are required to be reported in writing directly to the Kinsale Claims Department.
Ideally, you need your policy number readily available to report a claim. Contact your agent for help locating your policy.

To assist us in establishing the basic information about the claim, please provide us with the following: your policy number, your contact information including email and phone number, the date of loss, the location of loss, a brief description of what occurred, and the contact information for the claimant and any witnesses.
Report the claim to Kinsale as soon as practicable.
Be sure to take precautions to prevent further damage or incident, and if a crime was involved, call the police.
Take photos, collect contact information of individuals involved – whether claimant or witness, and if the police were involved, obtain a copy of the police report for your own records and to share with us.
If the claim involves damage to your property, keep any receipts from any temporary repairs you need to prevent further damage.
Only discuss the matter with your insurance agent, your attorney, law enforcement, or a representative from Kinsale. Do not admit fault or responsibility, and don’t attempt settlement of any kind without speaking to your assigned claims professional first.
After you submit your claim, we assign it to one of our claims professionals, who will be your point of contact moving forward. Your assigned claim professional will reach out to you as soon as possible after the claim is established.
Kinsale will begin the claim investigation process once we receive notice of the claim.
