Binding restrictions in place due to Southern California wildfires

As wildfires in Southern California continue to burn, Kinsale’s binding restriction remain in place for any location within 25 miles of an active wildfire, regardless of county. Countywide restrictions are also in place for Los Angeles County and have been extended to include Ventura County.

Binding restrictions are currently in place for Kinsale’s Aviation (Hull Coverage), Commercial Property, Energy (Oil Lease Property), High Value Homeowners, Inland Marine, Small Property, and Ocean Marine (Cargo Coverage) products in California where impact is anticipated.

Please remember, binding restriction include the following California locations:

• Los Angeles County
• Ventura County
• Any location within 25 miles of an active wildfire, regardless of county

Per our guidelines, the restrictions implemented in the event of a declaration of state of emergency are as follows:

• No policy will be bound on any new business.
• No endorsement may be issued on existing policies that has the effect of increasing limits of liability or decreasing deductibles, and no endorsements for policy term extension will be offered.
• Renewals of expiring policies may be written provided there is no increase in coverage.
